Day 4

Subject: [firstname]: You've gotta see this!

Hi [firstname],

If a picture paints a thousand words, how many words does a moving picture paint?

Nowadays, it's absolutely crucial that you use video to boost your online marketing efforts. There are many reasons for this, but key among them is the fact that the more of your customers' senses you can engage, the more information you can get across and the greater impact your message is likely to make.

Many people just skim the text on a web page, but when you post an explainer video – with graphics, music, text and narration – potential customers actually stop and take the time to absorb your message. You can use subtle persuasion techniques in a way that's not possible with text alone.

If you sell physical products, then a demonstration video can convey all the features and benefits of that product. It's the next best thing to your customer getting to hold the thing in their hands. If you're selling tech, then a demo video is a “no-brainer”.

Having a video on your website is great for search engine optimization (SEO). The longer a visitor stays on your site, the more weight search engines give to the ranking. When visitors take the time to watch a video instead of just skimming the text, they naturally stick around for a while. If your video is a video sales letter (VSL), you can effectively turn your website into a marketing presentation. Pretty neat.

But don't just limit video to your website!

Post on YouTube and Facebook as well. This can help generate more website traffic – especially as many people use Facebook and YouTube as search engines when they're looking for information or thinking about making a purchase.

Warmly,

[Your Name]
